Russ, thanks much and I will check into it. I have been running Microsoft Essentials virus protection regularly but it could have got past it I guess. I will get some sighted assistance to give me a hand in checking it out. Thanks again

Windows 8 hasn't been released yet, much less announced . I picked up a virus several months ago for Windows XP Home Essentials 2012 and had to restore my drive from an image backup.
