Hello Scorpio,

If your friend prefers using the mouse to keystrokes or just prefers using
options from ribbon tabs, one consideration might be creating a new tab and
group for the ribbon. Here are some steps to follow in word 2010 for adding
a new tab and group to the ribbon, renaming the tab and group, and adding
items to the new tab.

ADDING A TAB TO THE WORD 2010 RIBBON

The following steps can be used to add a custom tab to the Word 2010 ribbon.
The tab can be renamed after it is created. You can add groups or
individual items to the new ribbon tab. Items that are not included in the
default ribbon tabs or other items that you might want to be more accessible
can easily be added to the new tab that you create.

1. Press Alt+F to activate the file button.

2. Press Alt+T to move into the Word options.

3. Press the letter C to move to the Customize Ribbon choice.

4. Use tab key until you hear "customize the ribbon combo box." The
choice should be Main Tabs, which is fine for this procedure.

5. Use tab key one more time to the list of current tabs showing on
your ribbon.

6. You can use down and up arrow keys to move to the various tabs on
the ribbon. Use right and left arrow keys to expand or collapse a tab in
the list.

7. Use down arrow key to move to the tab in the list that you want to
be showing just before your new tab. The new tab will be inserted below the
currently selected tab in the list.

8. Tab one time to the New Tab button and use spacebar.

9. Use shift+tab back to the list of tabs showing on the ribbon and
focus should be on the new group entry. Use up arrow to find the entry
called "New tab." Word creates the new tab and a new group for items to be
placed in for accessing.

10. Use Shift+F10 or application key to bring up the context menu, arrow
down to the choice to rename and press enter key.

11. Fill in the display name you want for the tab, and then tab to the OK
button and press spacebar.

12. Use down arrow key to the "new group" entry and rename it in the same
manner as you did the new tab.

13. You can use up arrow to the newly named tab, and then tab across to
the Move up or Move Down buttons and use spacebar to activate them. This
will move the new tab up or down in the list of current tabs on the ribbon.

14. Move back to the list of current tabs and move to the new group entry.

15. Use shift+tab to move back to the "Choose commands from" list and
press A to move to the All commands choice.

16. Tab to the entire list of Word commands. Use first letter navigation
to move to the command you want to add. Use page up, page down, and up or
down arrow keys to move to the item you are wanting. (For example, the
Shrink One Page command).

17. When you find the item, tab to the Add button and press spacebar.

18. You can use tab key to move to where your new group is listed, and you
should find the new command in that group.

19. Tab to the OK button and use spacebar.

The ribbon will now have a new tab with a specific letter to use after
the Alt key to access it. When you select the tab, the new group and
entries is shown on the lower part of the ribbon.

Take care.
