... I'll refrain from personel comments, but that can at times corrupt the
data on the drive making it useless until the drive is reformatted.
and just because it hasn't happened to you yet, does not garentee it wont,
and then i hope the data isn't to cdritical for your sake!

in win 7 you can do it
insert f11
down arrow to safely remove hardware and eject media tab to right mouse
click you will then have the the option to eject it.

I am running JAWS V. 13 under Windows 7. I would greatly appreciate if
someone could tell me whether there exists a JAWS keystroke to safely
remove
my USB thumb drive. Under Windows XP, one could go into the system tray
via
insert plus F-12 to get to the safely remove button. However, this does
not
