David, thanks to you and Kimson as the info you guys sent me was right on target but jaws tells me in effect that when I created the filter that I either left out something or made a mistake and will not let me delete it. I am not good at this so I have not been able to find the problem but I intend to go back and try some more later. Thanks much

Let's try it this way. >From the inbox do alt f and right arrow until you get to the manage rules and alerts button and press spacebar. Now tab to the "move down" button and press spacebar. You will now be in a list of all of your rules, down arrow and press the delete key on the rule of which you would like to delete and then tab to apply and tab to ok.
