If you changed the top and bottom alert in the Default JAWS configuration, check to see that it is also turned off in the Word 2003 configuration. While Word 2003 is the active application, press JAWSkey+v to open Quick Settings and check its value.

Setting to silent stopped the ding sound when reaching the top/bottom of file list. Unfortunately, it did not stop the ding sounds in Word 2003. Must be a bug. I know, why am I running Word 2003 on Win 7? Because that is what I own and it works just fine, other than the ding sound.
