Try with a different speech synthesizer. Or, you can customize this punctuation. First, set it to MOST or ALL. then, open the Settings Center and, in the search field, type punctu or similar. In the list of result that come up will be customize punctuation. You can press F6 on it to bring up the dialogue; and change the button to ALL. (This has the effect of silencing all speaking of the quote sign.) Close, and save changes.

Hi Sue,

While in this Word document, press Insert + V, for jaws quick settings, type punctuation in the search box & wait a second or 2, for the list to populate or, arrow down a couple of times & press the letter P, until you land on
punctuation. Here you can see what your punctuation is for the Word
application & change if necessary.
Take care.
Mike

Subject: [JAWS-Users] punctuation in word 2010 question?

Hi I am using windows seven, and word twenty ten, and I am working on a
document that I had created in word 2003, and I have the punctuation
turned
off, or set to nun , but it is still reading my quotes, Jaws is saying
quote, so my question, is how do I turn this off after I have set the
 punctuation to nun! sue
