another good and accessible one is Auslogics Registry Cleaner I actually use both when I do a clean up since as far as I can tell one usually finds things the other one missed and visa versa
another thing to try if its not a SSD is to defrag; Auslogics disk defrag is faster than the windows included stock defrag application, and does a great job of this, I do believe I have others noted in my files, if you want any other names just ask and I'll collect and post them for you. Cleaning it out can provide some help when starting Windows and with overall performance. But the suggestions of checking your anti-virus, eliminate starting programs and Windows startup and going back to a previous restore point are also valuable. I don't know if there's a version of Regscrub for Windows 7. But when I used to run it under Windows Xp and compared it to another Registry cleaner, I found it hardly cleaned anything out of the registry. I would take a look at cCleaner which can clean the registry and a lot more. You can find a review of this program at JAWS-USERS.com on the Audio page. It's free. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of George Marshall Sent: Saturday, September 29, 2012 10:20 To: [email protected] Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows7 slow coming up Hi: I am using Windows7 on a Lenovo 4GB dual processor, JAWS13 build 1006 andwhen I restart it seems to take almost 10 minutes for windows and JAWS to come up. This problem has been happening for the last 3 or 4 days, prior to that it worked fine. I thought maybe the registor may need cleaning, is there a version of Regscrub that works on Windows7?
