Hi

Yes, by default, cCleaner will delete all your cookies. You can stop this
by unchecking cookies under internet explorer in the cleaner settings. Or
you can go to the Options tab and choose the cookies button. When you
select a cookie in this list, you will find cookies to be deleted, which
lists all of your cookies. The next press of the tab key
will take you to a button where JAWS says greater. Pressing it will move
the selected entry from the cookies to be deleted list to the cookies to
keep list. There is also a button where JAWS says less that will move the
selected cookie in the cookies to keep list back to the cookies to be
deleted list. This can be somewhat tedious, since you have to move the
cookies one at a time. But you only have to move them once.

You can have cCleaner automatically check for updates by selecting that
setting in settings under the Options tab. Then when you start cCleaner, it
will check for updates. It will only notify you if an update is available.
If this setting is already set, or pressing enter never returns any results,
it might be blocked by your firewall. There's usually an update every 4 to
six weeks.

To me C-Cleaner is confusing, I once wiped all my cookies trying to use it
which was not my intention, lately I just use the registry cleaning part and
ignore the rest.

It wants to check for updates which is fine except it never actually goes
out and does it.

another good and accessible one is Auslogics Registry Cleaner

I actually use both when I do a clean up since as far as I can tell one
usually finds things the other one missed and visa versa

another thing to try if its not a SSD is to defrag; Auslogics disk defrag is
faster than the windows included stock defrag application, and does a great
job of this, I do believe I have others noted in my files, if you want any
other names just ask and I'll collect and post them for you.

Hi

The Windows Registry does get cluttered. Cleaning it out can provide some
help when starting Windows and with overall performance. But the
suggestions of checking your anti-virus, eliminate starting programs and
Windows startup and going back to a previous restore point are also
valuable. I don't know if there's a version of Regscrub for Windows 7. But
when I used to run it under Windows Xp and compared it to another Registry
cleaner, I found it hardly cleaned anything out of the registry. I would
take a look at cCleaner which can clean the registry and a lot more. You
can find a review of this program at JAWS-USERS.com on the Audio page. It's
free.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows7 slow coming up

Hi:
I am using Windows7 on a Lenovo 4GB dual processor, JAWS13 build 1006
andwhen I restart it seems to take almost 10 minutes for windows and JAWS to
come up. This problem has been happening for the last 3 or 4 days, prior to
that it worked fine. I thought maybe the registor may need cleaning, is
there a version of Regscrub that works on Windows7?
Thanks for any help,

George R. Marshall
