Yes, there is.
You use the trim command in Goldwave.
1. Put a start marker just prior to the point in the file where you want to
start saving by putting a left bracket.
2. Go to the end of the file. You can hit the end key to do this.
3. Rewind for the one second by pressing f5, and then pause with f7 at the
point where you have the end of the file.
4. Press the right bracket to set the finish marker at that point.
5. Press control-T which is the Trim command. This will delete the parts
of the file that are outside of where the start and finish markers are, in
this case, the one second at the beginning and the one second at the end.
Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

Is there an easy way to remove 1 second at the beginning or end of a wav
file. I have wavpad and downloaded gold wave and can not figure out how to
clip a second or two. I have some recordings made on a digital recorder
and can edit but not fine tune.
