There are currently only two ways for blind computer users to resolve captchas without sighted help. The first involves using Firefox with an add-on called Webvisum that uses a proprietary means of solving captchas. Whenever you encounter a captcha on a web page using Firefox, you pres Alt-Control-numrow 6 to submit it to Webvisum, which decodes it and places the result on your clipboard for pasting into the appropriate edit field. The second captcha solving option, called ZCaptcha, works with any web browser and uses sighted human operators to solve captchas. You have to set up an account for a minimum of $5, and each captcha submitted for decoding costs 18 cents. The problem with this service it that it can take up to 15 minutes for a captcha to be solved after you submit it. So your best bet would be to install Firefox if you don't already use it, and then install the Webvisum add-on.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] CAPCHA question.

   Hi all,
I just noticed the CAPTCHA issue while on the web.
I've noticed some recent messages regarding this topic but did not read them since I had no idea what CAPTCH was.

Could someone direct me to learning how to deal with this issue?
With 13, I tried using the OCR but to no avail.

Many thanks!

Rich
