The control [ did it for me.
I now have it set up so I can easily make a recording of the church service.
I saved the 18 files from the greeting to the last hymn. and zeroed out the
files. I open all of them and the recording from myls7 recorder. That is
about a 900 meg file.
Just cut the beginning of the recording before the greeting. then set the
end marker at the end and cut to clipboard. go to the first zero file and
paste. Just keep repeating until everything has been relocated. I needed to
hear what was selected to make sure I did not set the markers at the wrong
place.
Thanks to everyone's help.

Actually control + Q drops what is called a Q point. I believe if you wish
to hear what is between the markers you have set hit the home key if memory
serves to place you at the start marker position.
To remove what is between the markers you have set hit the delete key, then
control + A to select the entire audio file. Again this is from memory as it
has been a little while. Honestly I do it so much that it has become
automatic to the point it doesn't cross my mind all the steps involved. This
makes me wonder if an audio tutorial might be in order. HTH.

I am trying to remove a portion part way into a file. I set the start and
end marker. Control a resets the markers to the beginning and end. How do I
listen to the selected part between the markers. If I reset the start
marker and startplaying it goes way beyone the end marker.
