Hi I believe that the Settings Center cannot be opened while in OpenBook because the default OpenBook that comes from Freedom Scientific already has the setting for sleep and unload. You can open the configuration by starting it from another application and then changing to the OpenBook configuration.

(You would open the Miscellaneous settings and check the checkbox enable sleep and unload synthesizer.) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike B." <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2013 1:21 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] open book and jaws > Hi Julie, > > What you need to do is start the program you would like to put Jaws to > sleep > in but, I couldn't open the Settings Center with either the Insert + > F2 > keystroke for the Jaws Manager or the Insert Key + 6, on the number > row > above the main keyboard with Openbook open.
