Hi David, just a quick post script. In both windows 7 and 8, an alternative to putting shortcuts to control panel items on the desktop is to make use of jump lists. Pin the control panel to the task bar, then in its jump list, pin the items which you use regularly. You can use first letter navigation in a jump list, so it's quick to find what you want. I did start a windows 8 page last summer but my resource stopped sending daily emails so for now it is at a stand still until I obtain new material. The thing about 7 is many shortcuts may be found by bringing them up in the search box and then doing a send to command to the desktop. If I can add to my 7 or 8 page for that matter some time I certainly will do so. David Ferrin
