I have had that issue until the very last update when it seems to have
miraculously been resolved :) Isn't that crazy? Originally using XP Pro
with
always the latest version of JAWS and for the last few months using
Windows
7 Home Premium 64 Bit with the latest JAWS. I did write FS when this was
posted a few months ago; but was never contacted. I had the same
situation
in that the first few html messages might act OK and then I would have to
again open everything in IE to read it. Also the same thing about not
being
able to navigate with quick keys. I told FS and this list about an
instance
in which I had two identical E-mails and the first one worked as it
should
and the identical second one would not read at all unless opened in the
browser.
I'm still crossing my fingers and waiting for the sky to fall again ;)

Well there must be quite a number of the 600 plus subscribers on here
running that particular email client, so with luck we'll generate some
traffic on the subject.

David,
thanks for your response. Your experience with Outlook 2007 and Jaws14
is
the same as Bryan reported with his setup and others at Fs. I'm guessing
it
is something particular to some setting or configuration on my PC. I
don't
have another computer running windows 7 so I cannot see if it would work
on
another computer of mine. Hopefully others on the list can help out on
this
matter. It is very frustrating. It's great that Jaws14 can read html
emails in Outlook 2007 and it makes things much easier for me when it is
working.

Sorry for your sake to report that I am using outlook 2007 on 2 systems
at
various times without any issues at all. In fact it does seem to work
better
than 2003.
This is a 64 bit with 7 pro and I have a 32 bit with ultimate on it. That
problem has never shown up here at all. I remember once quite a long time
ago running windows ME the same thing happened where nobody else could
reproduce the problem I was having at that time and it never did get
resolved. May you have better luck than I did at that time.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Ongoing problem with Jaws 14 reading html emails in
Outlook 2007
Dear list members,
I am still experiencing a problem with Jaws 14, including the latest
update,
reading html emails in Outlook 2007. When I first open Outlook 2007 Jaws
14
will read html emails fine. I can read the emails and use Jaws quick
navigation keys to navigate the email. However after a few minutes with
Outlook open Jaws 14 stops reading the emails with the virtual jaws
cursor
and reports it is using the PC cursor. At that point I cannot use the
quick
keys nor read the body of the email correctly. When that happens I need
to
close Outlook and reopen it. After reopening it, Jaws 14 may work for a
few
minutes and then it reverts to not reading html emails correctly.
I have reported this to Freedom Scientific (FS) and have had telephone
consultations with John Carson to try and identify and solve the problem.
Unfortunately we could not solve it despite John's best efforts.
I heard from Bryan Carver today. He is FS's director of Tech support and
a
Jaws user. He says that FS cannot reproduce the problem and that a
number
of staff at FS use Jaws 14 with windows 7 with Outlook 2007 all the time
and
have had no problems. He said that unless other jaws users can let Fs
know
that they are having the same problem as I am and be willing to share
their
computer setups with FS then there is nothing further FS can do.
So if anyone is having the problems with Jaws 14 and Outlook 2007 that I
am
could you please contact John or Bryan at FS and if possible send them
your
computer's set up, i.e. processor, video card, security software in use,
model number, etc. there emails are below. It would probably facilitate
matters if you reference my FS tech support Inquiry Number: 222674.
Thanks very much for any help in this matter. Fs has been very helpful
and
responsive but it seems without input from other Jaws users having the
same
problem as mine a solution is not in the offering.
