I must say, with pleasure, that after turning off most all of the advanced settings in the JAWS basics screen, JAWS now boots up much more quickly.

Hi Arianna, unfortunately vista was such a memory hog, that things always 
tended to boot slower. I'm not sure how much help I can offer other then make 
sure you have as little running on start up as you can. sorry I was pretty 
unhelpful.
