Hello:

Can you tell me how to get to mobility center to turn off the mouse pad. I just got a new HP laptop with windows 8 and jaws 14.

Thanks,
Dwight Johnson

Hello John,
I haven't had experience with windows 7, for I went straight from XP to 8. When I was looking for a laptop, I found out that one with Windows 8 was cheper.
At first it is a bit confusing, but you start to get used to it.
As to the touch pad, there is no problem. Windows 8 has a thing called 'mobility center', were you can turn the pad off. I only turn it on when I need sighted help.
Good luck in your search. Regards,

List, looking at new laptops. Just wondering if windows 8 versions are
similar to windows 7. I use windows 7 home premium so I can use my Jaws
program with my Jaws license. Does windows 8 have a similar version scheme
and if so, what is it?

Also, I assume I do not want to be looking at laptops with touch screens as
I am a total?

I would also appreciate any other suggestions that might be helpful in
guiding me.
