It feels as though the download is faster in Internet Explorer 9 and Internet Explorer 10 because once you press enter on the "Save" link, the download is in progress in the background. By the time you have selected where you want your file downloaded and such, some of the file has been downloaded. The end result is that it feels as though the file downloaded faster, but in fact it takes the same amount of time. If you decide you don't want the downloaded file, Internet Explorer simply deletes what it has cashed. It's a cool new little trick, but the downloads are being downloaded at the same speed as in Internet Explorer 8--with respect to your internet connection speed of course. I think this is made possible due to the inclusion of the download manager in Internet Explorer 9 and 10.

I don't know why but that's how it seems here at least. Use your jaws cursor to determine the version of Internet Explorer you are currently using. Please convey this information as it would narrow down the possibilities; the less possibilities the faster you can implement the best solution. <Smile>. For example, if you are running Internet Explorer 10 then you will end up with Internet Explorer 9, or you will end up with Internet Explorer 8, which mean you can then install Internet Explorer 9. It begins to get confusing which is why I'm suggesting we first figure out for absolute certainty which version of Internet Explorer you are using. If you cannot wait for additional feedback from the list, you can download Internet Explorer 9 from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/internet-explorer-9-details.aspx I suggest you really, really consider why you feel you need Internet Explorer 9 over Internet Explorer 8. I have found that downloading files is significantly easier and faster using Internet Explorer 8. Internet Explorer 10 is almost identical to IE9, so you would not really notice much of a performance increase moving from 9 to 10 or from 10 to 9. I personally don't like the extra security steps necessary to download a file when using Internet Explorer 9 and Internet Explorer 10, but I'm here to answer your question, not mine. <Smile>. Worst case scenario, we can always uninstall Internet Explorer 9 or Internet Explorer 10 and go right back to Internet Explorer 8. Rather than to waste that kind of time, why not first determine the pros and cons of your current decision to move to Internet Explorer 9. <Smile>. I have tried to install IE9 many times from the windows updates but it always locks up my computer. It seems to try installing IE9 and IE10 at the same time and locks up my computer everytime. Does anyone have a direct download for IE9 that you could pass on to me? I would appreciate it very much. I looked over the jaws-users home site but couldn't find anything there.
