My friend had given me this HP G-72 laptop and it must be the way HP installed Windows 7 because I can't even find C:\documents and settings not even the all users documents and settings and I now see why several don't choose HP but go with either Dell or something else, I also heard that HP doesn't come to you to service where Dell does, and I don't like how HP partitioned Windows 7 at all...which is why I can't wait until rehab buys me a Dell laptop so I can put JAWS on there and not have this problem because it will be a fresh install of Windows 7 on a 64-bit machine. If I had a Windows 7 disk to do the fresh install, I'd do it myself with sighted assistance, unless this new talking installation of Windows installation I just heard about from Top Tech Tidbits would help, but in that case I'd still have to have the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installer disks and that might as well be expensive...so, JAWS has come to a stalemate with me, and I don't think the FS team will be able to help me, but I guess it will be worth the call on Monday...and if nothing changes then, I'm just going to have to use NVDA until I get my computer Rehab will purchase for me. Well, I'm going to try to get some sleep. Seems like I keep spinnin' right round with this issue, the circle of life as it may be.

It is to give children the skills to understand the world and an expectation
that the world is a trustworthy place; that it is full of light, and love, and
music and that each student deserves--and will have--their own place in it and
the chance to play their own song.
And, as much of these expectations are transmitted non-verbally—and in Chela’s
case--out of sight…it is the voice and touch of a Teacher that sheds light on
what the world can be.

Wow this must be a world record of my having the longest JAWS issue ever LOL, but seriously, can't wait for 15 to come out, would be cool if when one does a repair switch from the directions from the FS team, that it would autodetect the files missing and just add automatically so this issue won't ever happen again, but I'm only dreaming big I guess...sigh, this is wearing me out.

There aren't any settings for Freedom Scientific JAWS and anything related to Freedom Scientific products for Linda the main user and not even for me, Chela. Weird just keeps getting more strange and I feel like I'm dumb stumped. Never have I had this problem before when I had version 10 on my xp machine that died and lived its life to its potential and it was a 32-bit system.
Hmmm!

No, the registry, doesn't store files. Registry just indicate keys for windows. For example, if we have installed jaws in C:\All Programs\Freedom\Jaws, then the registry just indicate the path for that program. Of course, registry indicate a lot of things, keys, paths, and sub keys for dll that are needed for windows. You can clean your registry of keys that are not linked to anything, or information that is making process not eficient. I use cCleaner for this kind of problems. Really the registry is more that I am telling you, but in a few words. The registry is a kind of guides, and indications for run the operated system, and all programs installed in your computer.

Perhaps there are files left over in the registry? How would I be able
to check it if it has jaws stuff in the registry?

My suggestion is this;
1. uninstall jaws 14.
2. delete the freedom scientific folder that is in all programs.
3. If in windows 7 do you have more than one user, you should delete the setting configuration stored in c:\users\YourUser\app\freedom....
4. Reinstall jaws 14 of 64 bits.
Just one thing. Try to place the UAC level in 50%, no more than this.
Reinstall jaws, and let us know how it goes.

Your best bet, I think, is to totally remove JAWS14, before reinstalling it. (Download first; reinstall after.) Remember that JAWS takes quite a while to load, so don't use NVDA for the JAWS reinstall. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chela Robles" <cdrobles...@gmail.com>

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Introduction and a very annoying JAWS Error

Hello my name is chela Robles from concord California.
I've been a JAWS user since version 5.0 came out, and have license for version 10 which doesn't run under windows 7, so I've heard, and so I downloaded version 14.0.6005 build for 64-bit systems as a 40 minute demo since I'm not authorized to use this version fully on an HP G72 Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium laptop and I've discovered a very annoying
issue which I've tried to solve using the below method from Freedom
Scientific about 6 times now and I'd like to know what your thoughts are regarding this issue and I'm so sorry if this topic comes up often, but
since I'm new to this list, I'd like your opinions regarding
trouble-shooting this issue, please? Thanks in advance for your suggestions. So I downloaded the latest demo version of the 64-bit version of JAWS version 14, that being build 6005 in English, saved it to my C drive so I skipped that step outlined in the directions from Freedom Scientific, then I ran the executable and followed the prompts using the NVDA screen reader since the talking installer didn't work, then I rebooted the pc like one always has to when installing JAWS and I loaded JAWS and got
this error:
JAWS
A file required by the driver ELOQ.JLS for Eloquence Software could not be loaded. One or more shared components are missing. Please reinstall
this product in an effort to resolve the problem.
OK
so I pressed ok and followed the repair switch from the run dialog box: pressed windows r then typed in C:\J14.0.6005ENU-64bit.exe /typerepair
and pressed enter and followed the prompts spoken by NVDA since the
talking installer requires Eloquence to speak since it wouldn't speak,
and still no go, I still get the same error and I've done the whole
process 6 times now. I'm officially stumped!
Can anyone help me please with this issue?
You can write me offlist at cdrobles...@gmail.com as to not clutter up this list thank you again for your service. I greatly appreciate it.
