Do you mean brackets or parentheses? [They are different.]
You could decrease the punctuation level setting in JAWS Options basics,
or you could (in the Customize Punctuation dialogue, which you can get
to via the Settings Center. Type punctuation, and this will be one of
the results.) - customize whether JAWS speaks or mutes punctuation
signs. (The radiobuttons you tab to from the list of signs there do the
oposite of what you might expect: If you choose the ALL radiobutton it
means Mute All for the sign to which it applies; NONE means Mute None.)
