Hi Mich,
I'm curious...
The price you quoted, is that for simply the software required to upgrade,
or is that the price including hardware?
Only reason I ask is that you can find some excellent deals on sites like
Tiger Direct, or Amazon for full computers running the same software, but
with better hardware.
I'm with Rick on this one. If you're going to pay that price, might as well
go for an entirely new computer, then upgrading an old one that may not be
able to handle the computing requirements of a 64 bit system.
there's also other issues you may not have taken into account, such as
software you may not be able to run on a 64 bit machine. Granted, Windows 7
has a 64 bit emulator, but it's simply not the same, and other software
licences may not function properly at all in a 64 bit environment.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] if I upgrade my desc top to windows 7 64 bit do I need
to purchis another version of jaws?
Hi all. I just got a quote to find out how much it would cost for me to
upgrade my desc top running windows xp to windows 7. now my question is.
Right now I am running windows xp 32 bit. the quote that the people at the
pc store gave me was it would cost 309 to upgrade back up and make my pc
desc top run windows 7 64 bit. now my question is. the jaws that I have are
all for windows 32 bit systems. except I have sma's for jaws 12, 13 and 14.
now I am wondering would I need to purchase another license to run jaws
under a 64 bit os? many thanks. from Mich.
