Brian, Thanks. I am running Windows 7 and have the pro version of malware bytes installed. So from what you are saying, I should just leave well enough alone and leave defender off, correct?

Although, if you are running Malware Bytes you likely don't need to have Windows Defender active. In Windows 8, Windows Defender replaced MSE and is an antivirus and antispyware program. In Windows 8, it should not be used in conjunction with another antivirus program but can be used in conjunction with Malware Bytes or other antispyware applications. Also, in Windows 8, Windows Defender needs to be turned on. If another antivirus program is on a system then it should be uninstalled before using Windows Defender in Windows 8. Take care.
