Hi Scott.
Here is what works for me. I am using Excel 2007.

If I want to add the sum of cells K1 through K5, do the following.

=sum(k1:k5)
Note: it may help to read this formula character by character to hear where the colons and parentheses are. Hope this helps.

trying to add 3 colums  put in  =Sum(H2 +k2+L2) and I get #value in cell
also want to put a number that is in a colum in another  colum put
=Sum(M2)That just showed the formula.What am I doing wrong?
