Hi Steve and thanks for responding to my inquiry.
Yes, I am using a USB External drive and I am now copying files to it and I did not install the software that came with primarily because of concerns that it might not be Jaws friendly.
Thanks again for your help.

Pete,

I don't know about your specific external drive. If it comes up, you probably don't need to use their software. I am assuming here that you are talking about a USB external drive.

If you are talking about an external hard disk, you may need to run the Seagate Disk Wizzard to format the disk so the computer will recognize it. That shouldn't be necessary with a USB external drive.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Questions about external back-up drive

Hi all.
I just purchased a Seagate external drive on which to back up files currently on my computer.
If it helps, I am currently using Jaws 11, and Windows XP.
Do I have to install the Seagate Dash-board file in order to use my drive?
If so, is this software accessible.
If I don't have to install the software that came with this drive, can I just start copying files to the drive?
Thanks in advance.

Pete
