I heard, the last version of Nero that was "accessible" was version 9, but why bother falling backwards just for accessibility. and anyway, Nero became more bloated as well.

I am afraid I do not currently have the web address for their website, but you can do a web search for that. To rip a DVD, try an old program called DVD Shrink, be sure to get the version 3.2. Someone is producing it again and charging for it. I tried the free trial of this new version, and found it inaccessible. The original DVD Shrink can be downloaded from the web site www.dvdshrink.org. You will need a more recent program to run in conjunction with DVD Shrink to remove the DMR from the more recent DVD's, and for this, I recommend two different ones. The first is called the DVD43 plug in, it works in the background, and you will never know that it is running on your computer. The second one is a product from DVD Fab called DVD Fab 9.125, it is a free download from the DVD Fab website, and it does require that you open it with DVD Shrink. It performs the same function as DVD43, but one will often remove the DMR from a disc when the other will not. To rip a CD, I recommend Express Rip produced by NCH Software, It is available for free for home use only, or you can pay about the same price or less than you would for Nero, and get the full license. I believe it costs around 40 dollars. Their website is www.nchsoftware.com. So, even though it takes 3 different pieces of software, you can do the same thing which will cost you a few dollars with Nero for free. I have backed up my own CD's and DVD's, and can now preserve the originals to burn other copies from when my current copies get damaged.
