Anyone on here can feel free to correct me, but I don't think there's very much difference between a USB 2.0 and 3.0 port. It sounds like the colors are different, but other than that, they're probably alike except for speed. If I'm not mistaken, USB 3.0 is faster than 2.0. The computer and the connected device may share data more quickly, but that may be all.
