Ok, must be mixing this up with SATA 2 versus 3 on the
inside of my tower. I know the SATA 3 port is red

Best,
Al

Hi,

Actually, USB 3.0 ports are blue, and the 2.0 are black.
Helpful hint if someone can see some or if you have sighted
help.

Are there any visual difference between 2.0 and 3.0 USB
ports? Just in case I ask someone sighted to take a look
for me.

Annette

Call the computer manufacturer's Technical Support Number
with the computer's model number. They will be able to tell
you which ports are USB
3.0 and which are 2.0. They will be grouped together, not
intermixed. For instance, on a laptop, the 3.0 ports are
usually on the left side of the computer when facing the
screen, and the 2.0 ports are on the right side.

Hi

Well, it looks like that sighted assistance is the only way
to identify USB
3.0 ports.

I've wondered the same. How can you tell without sighted
assistance?

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Finding USB 3.0 ports

Hi

With Windows 7 and JAWS 16, if you have a computer with both
USB 2.0 and USB
3.0 ports, is there a way to determine which ports are USB
3.0 other than the colors on the case?

Thanks.
