I have found that with my Gmail account, if I place my own address in the
BCC field, then the group receives the message and so also do I. Then, I
receive the messages I wish to receive and those I do not, I can be
selective with. I am sure this whole concept depends upon how our settings
happen to be individually configured. I have been doing this for years this
way. For a while I thought it might be easier to use the "recent" fix, but
never got around to implementing it.

Also, since I have a rule set up for messages to go to a specific folder in
my In Box, when coming from the group, now that message with the
BCc return comes to my main In Box alone.

This is what works for me presently. Everything is always subject to change
though.

Hi Mike,
This is the other tip I vaguely remembered, but couldn't remember exactly
where the "recent" went.
I was subscribed to another list some time ago, with a gmail account, and
did not need to use this to see my posts to the list.
In my particular case, I just had to set my outgoing server to my ISP.
Thanks!

Hi

When you're using a gmail account for an email list, by default you won't
receive a copy of any message that you send to the list. If you want a
copy, edit the settings for the gmail account in your email client. In the
User name field Which is just before the password field, that reads <
emailAddress>@gmail.com, type the word recent followed by a : (colon, i.e.
recent:<emailAddress>@gmail.com. You will then receive a copy of every
email you send through that account. I don't know if the copy means that
your message got to the recipient, or just to the gmail server. But you can
check the list archives to make sure if your message got there or not.

I would like to have my own posts to this list show up in my inbox along
with the emails sent by others. I do not recall how to change that. Can
the moderator describe the steps on how to do that? I assume there is a
way.

Sincerely,
Tim Ford

Hi Leonard and Loren,
Your messages are making it to the listjust fine, it may be that the person
with the answer hasn't read your message yet.
It is not uncommon for a message to go un-answered from time to time, and
someone may be looking for an answer if they don't have it.
You can always re-post your question.
