Woe, now I'm not sure what has happened, mayhap the problem that caused me
to have to restore was iTunes related after all ... the desktop icon is
still there but now when I click it I get this:
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows
you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you
need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then
contact the software publisher.

This is not encouraging information. Are you sure the
restore point you used was in fact prior to updating to
12.1? My understanding of this process was it rolled one's
system back to a point prior to the installation which in
this case should have brought you back to iTunes 12.0126 or
whatever the initial version 12 was.

Hi Alan, I unknowingly updated to iTunes 12.1. Later that
evening I had some unrelated problems and had to do a
restore, the newest install of iTunes
12.1 was gone but my 12.0 was not there either ...

Mike,
Yes, you are right. You can read the dates/time with regular
cursor but the name that follows is not read unless you use
the JAWS cursor. I read through some of the FAQ's on using
this. If I understand correctly, say I install the most
recent version of ITunes, which many are saying is not
working well with JAWS. Now say I don't like it and select a
restore point prior to installing it. Will the version I was
currently using of iTunes be back when I restore?

Hi Al,
I believe you need to route your Jaws cursor to the PC
cursor, go to the top of the page with the page-up key, &
arrow down 1 line at a time to get the name you put into the
edit field when you created the restore point. It's been
quite awhile since I've had to find the actual name & if my
memory hasn't totally failed that's what I had to do.
Take care.

Mike,
So I'm assuming when the selected percentage is reached
windows begins getting rid of the oldest each time a new one
is created? I did get mine all configured and created a test
point. However it asked me to name it but once created it
only showed the date in the list. Where do you find the
name?
Best,
Al

Mike,
Thanks, will check this out when time permits. At present, I
checked and it is not even turned on. Will need to configure
that first. Do you have yours set to restore just system
files or which?
Best,
Al

Anyone know a good POD cast explaining how to save and
restore from system restore using Windows 7 and JAWS? Or, is
someone has some written instructions that would be good as
well.
Best,
Al
