I am not running MS Windows 8.1 but if the system sounds section is similar
to previous versions of Windows you want to get into the control panel and
look at the sounds menu and make sure that device connect and disconnect
have sounds assigned to them. If not assign a sound to them. Tom

when I use to turn on my printer it use to make a sound on my computer so I
would know that it turned on and now all of a sudden it does not how can I
fix this problem?
I am using windows 8.1, jaws 15 and the cannon ink jet 3500 series.
