You could go and turn off numbering on the Ribbon, but the easy way to stop it from numbering at a certain number is to hit backspace three times. That will turn off numbering. Is that what you wanted to do? If you wanted to type a line under the first number one line, without a new number being generated, then hit Control plus Enter and you can do that. You can then resume numbering at number two, etc. Not sure which you are trying to achieve.

Under one of the headings I had a few items to list. I started a line with 1. and the item when I depressed the enter button it automatically started 2. I could not find a way to stop this until I closed and re opened the document. Any suggestions? --- Please visit my web page It’s motivational, inspirational with a touch of humor There is also a very extensive resource list for the blind http://www.LennyMcHugh.com International Brotherhood of Magicians member #43990R For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
