It is a function in Word, not Jaws causing this problem and I think it is shift-F8 or maybe control F8, the one thing I am sure of is that it is the F8 eye, not sure which combo will turn this off at the moment and am using 2010 here.

One time I had some kind of smart tag or something and ended up calling Freedom Scientific Customer Service. The woman I talked to was really smart, got me right to what I had to do to make it stop doing that, and I believe that it was in JAWS Verbosity.
