Hello Kimber, I have changed step 3 as I didn't write it correctly. I also added some information in step 7. Here is my earlier message with steps 3 and 7 changed
Below are steps for controlling the quick access toolbar in Word 2013. First though, use Alt with the numbers to launch the particular item on the QAT and not CTRL. 1. Use Alt+F followed by Alt+T to go into Word options. 2. In the list of categories press Q or use down arrow to the quick access toolbar category. 3. Tab to the list of the groups of commands to choose from and then use down arrow key or press the first letter of the command group. If you want to choose from all commands then press A. 4. Tab to the list of commands in the group you chose and either use down arrow key or first letter navigation to get to the command you want. 5. Tab to the add button and use spacebar. 6. Tab past the remove button and make sure in the next box you select the command to be used in all documents. 7. Tab again and you find the list of commands that have been added to the toolbar. If you select one by using up or down arrow key until focus is on the command you can tab a few times and use the move up or move down buttons to adjust their position in the list. The position of an item in the list determines which number will be used with the Alt key to activate it. Of course, if the command is at the top of the list already there will only be a move down button and if it is at the end of the list you won't have a move down button. 8. Tab to OK and use spacebar. Take care. For anyone who is still reading. I got a new installation of word recently, which means I lost the modifications I made to my quick access toolbar. For example, I used to be able to press control 1 and get the word count of my current document. Control 2,3,4, and 5 allowed me to accept and reject changes. I miss these functions! It's been so long since I changed the qat that I forget how to do it and googling doesn't seem to be helping very much. Could somebody give me a quick tutorial on modifying the qat in word 2013? I would be grateful. Thanks, Kimber -- Kimberly For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ ----- No virus found in this message.
