I made that mistake years ago with Earthlink and ever since then, I never use a 
provider's email. I'm with Gmail, but Yahoo or a myriad of other options exist 
where you're not tied to a company like that.

Every now and then I want to bundle with our cable service. In addition to 
them not being convincing that a good price is going to last long, my 
husband (great with computer, has been printer and taught electronics) urges 
that we do need to think carefully before even considering changing e-mail 
addresses. I did do it quite a few years ago, and it was a hassle.
