There's a lot of that going around. The best way to customize word is with the extensive list of options under the file menu. Like you, I like a nice, clean, get-down-to-business interface. Pay particular attention to the Advanced tab. Take your time, go back and review as often as you want, and, next thing you know, Word will be performing Dacia's way.
