Thank you; the personal one would be more to my liking.

They are both the same. Office 365 is Office 2013 bundled with special pricing and sold as a subscription service. The cost is less. I pay $10.39 per month for the Home version which includes Word, Excel, Power Point, One Drive, Outlook, Publisher, and Access. With this you also get 1 TB of One Drive and 60 minutes of Skype per month to use. With this subscription, you can install the suite on up to 5 computers or tablets, and you always keep the latest updates and upgrades for the Office Suite, so when the next version comes out, you will automatically update to that. When I had Office 2013 Home and Student installed on my computer, it seemed as if something about Office never work right, but with the 365, it has run flawlessly. There is also the Personal version available for $6.95 per month plus taxes, and with this version I believe you get Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook only.

Which is newer, Office 2013 or Office 365?

Thanks.

Hey Dacia,

First of all you must have either Office 2013 or Office 365 installed on your computer. It could be the Home edition, the Home and Business Edition, or whatever. Then hopefully, you will already have the icons for Word, excel, etc on your desktop. If you don't, then we can go through the steps of putting them there, if you have one of these versions of Office. Then, you could just go to your desktop and press enter on the icon for Word and it, of course, would open. Let me know what version of Office you are running , and we can take it from there.

Hi,
How do you start the desktop version of Word?

Hi,

In the File tab, arrow down to options, and select General. Tab on down until you find Show the start screen when this program opens, and uncheck this box. Now select OK and now the back stage view will not come up when you open Word, just a blank document.

As for more blind friendly versions of Word, I know that the web app is not very accessible, but the desktop versions should be equally accessible.

On saving, I, again, open the file tab, and arrow to Save to save changes to a previously saved document. Or, to save a new document and assign it a name, press enter on the Save As option, and it will say saving features, go down to computer, and you will get an edit field to type in the name that you want to give to the document. Then, simply tab down to the Save button and press enter. If you do not want to save the document to the default folder, usually the Documents folder, then in the edit field, type in the path to where you want the document saved, such as: c:\archives\document name.

hit enter on the backstage view when I just want a new document
opened? Also, it says is the word app is there a more blind friendly
