Hi J,

Type, Wordpad, all 1 word into the search dialogue. Or, go to Start Menu, /
All Programs / Accessories & press enter, arrow up 1 time, & there is
Wordpad. You can press enter to open, but now, with Wordpad highlighted,
open your context menu, arrow to, SendTo, press enter, arrow down to,
Desktop create shortcut, & press enter. Now you will have a Wordpad
shortcut icon on your desktop.
HTH
Take care.
Mike

I just tried doing this in the run dialogue but I got the message that the
file couldn't be located. Sounds weird but I'm not the tecky.

It is on my Desktop. If not there, it could be on your Start. You could try
hitting Windows R for Run, then type in Word Pad, and you'd land there,
wherever it is. You can save it to a shortcut to desktop by hitting Alt F
and arrowing down to Send Submenu, then arrowing to Shortcut to Desktop.
Then, there you would have it!
