If that is the effect that is desired, I think that is the best solution to this problem. Select the entire table with ALT plus 5 on the keypad. Then ALT plus H to go to the home tab of the ribbon, then the letter B then the letter N. That is the No Border option.
There is a way of removing borders from a table. The columns can be separated by tabs or commas, etc. Some work is often required when converting to tabs to make everything line up correctly. The option is called Convert to text. In old versions of Word this option is on the Table menu. In newer versions it's in the Data group of the ribbon. When the cursor is in a table you get a new tab on the ribbon called Layout. In the lower ribbon of that tab is the Convert to text option. You can then choose whether you want tabs between the columns. The shortcut keys for the ribbon is alt J L V. This gives you a dialog box with radio buttons where you can choose what character you want between columns. Hope this is correct and it helps. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of George Martinez CPA Sent: Friday, July 17, 2015 5:09 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Bulk] Re: [JAWS-Users] Removing Tables and leaving text I used to use Word a lot with Tables producing footnotes for financial reports but no longer do those type of reports. I do not ever remember seeing a way to remove the table (borders) and without removing the text. Besides if you did the text would become a jumble without the table to hold the spacing. However, there is a way to make the table lines invisible both on screen and for printing.
