You forgot to mention that, after selecting all, you must cut it to the
clipboard with ctrl-x, if you want to have a blank Word document to paste
your detabled text into.

If you will select all of the text in the Word document, Control + A, then
open Notepad and paste the information into the blank text document, then
select all of the text again and paste it back into the now blank Word
document, the table formatting will be removed, and all of the text will
remain. You might have to format a couple of things the way that you want
them, but the text will not be jumbled up.

I used to use Word a lot with Tables producing footnotes for financial
reports but no longer do those type of reports.
I do not ever remember seeing a way to remove the table (borders) and
without removing the text. Besides if you did the text would become a
jumble without the table to hold the spacing.
However, there is a way to make the table lines invisible both on screen and
for printing.
