Download the JAWS® screen reading software version 16.0 update to the root
of the hard drive from one of the links below:
• JAWS 16.0.4350 64-bit English - May 2015
ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/JAWS/J16.0.4350ENU-x64.exe
• JAWS 16.0.4350 32-bit English - May 2015
ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/WebFiles/JAWS/J16.0.4350ENU-x86.exe
after downloading the file, you want to copy the file to your OS c folder or
whatever it's called on your computer.
then do the following to perform a repair.
1. Activate the run dialog “windows key+r”
2. Type in:
c:\J16.0.4350ENU-x64.exe /type repair
or
c:\J16.0.4350ENU-x86.exe /type repair
And hit enter

Its not just your laptop.
I just tried for the heck of it, even though I know there are no
new
updates.
I got an error, saying that FS server could not be contacted.
Hopefully, FS will fix this in Jaws 17, be patient...
No need to worry about it right now anyways...

I have mentioned that on my w 10 laptop I am unable to check for
JAWS
updates. FS says it's a Windows issue. Microsoft says it's an
FS
issue. I have done all I know how to do.
If it is a firewall, proxy,
or anything of that type, I don't know how to find/solve the
problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
