I should add that this is in XP. Although I think, but can't be positive, that I had to do the same thing in Windows 7. Haven't tried in Windows 10 yet.

Press, Windows Key + R, to open the Run dialogue. 2. Type in, msconfig, & press enter. 3. Control + Tab, to the Start Page. 4. Arrow up / down through this list using the spacebar to uncheck anything in this list that you don't want starting with the computer. 5. Tab, to Okay, & press enter. You will get a dialogue asking if you want to restart your computer, choose yes, & restart the computer. The computer needs to be restarted for your changes to take affect. Take care.
