Something else to try is to maximize your window with alt plus space bar
then the letter x.
Finally you can close out JAWS with insert f 4 and reload.

Hi Maria,
that is what must have happened because it is still doing it so I am
going to shut down the computer and try it again to see if it still does
it.
thanks for your help
Re: [JAWS-Users] when writing an email in Thunderbird
That shouldn't be happening. Try it again. You might have accidentally
hit a key that made it happen. I don't have that problem with my
Thunderbird.

I was writing an email in Thunderbird and when I went to reread the
message with my arrow keys jaws would not read it I had to press the
jaws key which is the insert key and the up arrow in order to get back
to the top of the message to read it over.
does anyone on the list know how I can get jaws to read the message that
I typed with using just the up or down arrow again like it use too?
Thanks in advance
