When you uninstall a third party anti virus program, such as Norton or
McAffee, Windows Defender is set to automatically enable itself by default.

You most likely have another virus program on your computer, as long as it
is there Windows Defender can't be activated. I have the same situation with
the Dell I recently purchased, it has a trial version of MacAfee installed
and the link to Windows Defender won't work. Tom

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Activating windows defender
I am using W10, WLM and jaws 17 and just purchased a new computer and need
to know how to turn on windows defender. I want to use W defender for
several weeks until I decide what virus protection I wish to use. I have
tried several times to turn it on but to no avail. I will appreciate any
help.
Best wishes,
