Do you have an Adobe icon on your desktop. You don't need to be in a pdf to make the necessary changes. If you do not have the Adobe desktop icon, search Adobe pdf or Adobe BC in Windows Search. Once you have a blank Adobe screen, go to it with the set up assistant.

Scorpio,

Thanks for the suggestion but I cannot get to the file menu
to save a copy. Only thing on this screen is a button that
says open document button. No matter what I try to activate
that control, I cannot

Hi Alan,

When that happens to me, I just save a copy on my computer,
instead of viewing the document from the temp directory it's
being held in.

I believe this has to do with the Smart Screen feature, but
don't quote me on that.

In any case, if you do a "save as" from the file menu, then
save it in your documents or downloads directory, it will
negate the Smart Screen protection, and you should be able
to read the document just fine.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Hello,

I know this topic has been discussed but don't remember the
work around if any. I'm using the latest version of the PDF
software referenced in my subject line. Works great opening
attachments I receive via email, PDF's on my PC, etc.
However, some web based PDF documents, an example are ones
on my Prudential IRA site, when they get opened all I hear
is an open button that I cannot do anything with. Has anyone
found a way to open this type PDF document?

Best,

Al
