Sorry - I should have top-posted the reply on this list (the policy is different from that of every other mailing list I've subscribed to over the years).
Here's the reply again: I don't know whether Windows 10 Mail supports POP3, but in any case, IMAP will give you better results than POP3 and should be supported by any good mail server.
