Looking over your steps, I wonder why you close the main IE window before the
download has completed. Sometimes doing so can interrupt the download, which
happens, for example, on the BARD website. Besides, if you plan to continue
using IE, you could resume from that window. Kimsan's control-t from the
downloads window might also work, but I haven't tested it.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] help with internet explorer on task bar

Hi everyone I need some help please.
Using windows 10 and latest build of jaws 17 I have internet explorer on my
task bar. I opened internet explorer and went to a website I frequent and I
clicked to download a file. I click alt n and save my file. I click alt n
and I click view downloads. I alt tab and click control w to close the
website which I originally visited to download my file.
I minimize the window that shows the download and it's progress.
I brouse through email and I decide to go back to the internet to search for
something. Here's the problem. I go to the task bar and now internet
explorer isn't there, it's replaced by the window that's downloading, how
can I open a new tab in internet explorer?
I tried to access some sort of file tab to find an option to open a new tab
but no such luck. Any ideas? I hope I've explained my situation properly,
and I hope I haven't confused you guys too much.
Thanks for any help provided in advanced.
Regards
Zoe
