Hi Cher,
As Kimber has said the shortcut doesn't work on the view and track your
downloads. Now you say I might want to change my windows-sounds. Sorry I'm
drawing a blank what does sound have to do with internet explorer and tabs?

Try control-T to open a new window. You might want to change your taskbar
settings to show all windows- sounds like yours is set to show only 1
instance of a running app.

Subject: [Bulk] [JAWS-Users] help with internet explorer on task bar

Hi everyone I need some help please.
Using windows 10 and latest build of jaws 17 I have internet explorer on my
task bar. I opened internet explorer and went to a website I frequent and I
clicked to download a file. I click alt n and save my file. I click alt n
and I click view downloads. I alt tab and click control w to close the
website which I originally visited to download my file.
I minimize the window that shows the download and it's progress.
I brouse through email and I decide to go back to the internet to search for
something. Here's the problem. I go to the task bar and now internet
explorer isn't there, it's replaced by the window that's downloading, how
can I open a new tab in internet explorer?
I tried to access some sort of file tab to find an option to open a new tab
but no such luck. Any ideas? I hope I've explained my situation properly,
and I hope I haven't confused you guys too much.
Thanks for any help provided in advanced.
Regards
Zoe
