Hi guys, when I'm downloading from a website, I usually close the internet page after I have chosen view and track your downloads. I only do this when I no longer want to surf the net and I'm just waiting for my download to finish. Regardless of my reasons, isn't it strange that I can't open internet explorer if the view and track your download page is running? In windows 7 I did not have this problem, I could have 10 tabs open including the above mentioned window and they were all individual and the shortcut on the desk top remained internet explorer and I could access it at any time. Having said that with windows 10 I don't have a shortcut on the desk top, it's located in the task bar. If I have a page open such as google.com I can bring that page up from the task bar and hit the shortcut to open a new tab, but as I said above that isn't possible with the view and track your download page.

I went to the mods site here and just downloaded a random program. I closed the jaws-users programs page, the download was still showing but CTRL t did nothing. Just ignore my last email. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Adrian Spratt Sent: Wednesday, June 8, 2016 9:19 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] help with internet explorer on task bar Looking over your steps, I wonder why you close the main IE window before the download has completed. Sometimes doing so can interrupt the download, which happens, for example, on the BARD website. Besides, if you plan to continue using IE, you could resume from that window. Kimsan's control-t from the downloads window might also work, but I haven't tested it. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of zoe fiogkos Sent: Wednesday, June 08, 2016 8:54 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [JAWS-Users] help with internet explorer on task bar Hi everyone I need some help please. Using windows 10 and latest build of jaws 17 I have internet explorer on my task bar. I opened internet explorer and went to a website I frequent and I clicked to download a file. I click alt n and save my file. I click alt n and I click view downloads. I alt tab and click control w to close the website which I originally visited to download my file. I minimize the window that shows the download and it's progress. I brouse through email and I decide to go back to the internet to search for something. Here's the problem. I go to the task bar and now internet explorer isn't there, it's replaced by the window that's downloading, how can I open a new tab in internet explorer? I tried to access some sort of file tab to find an option to open a new tab but no such luck. Any ideas? I hope I've explained my situation properly, and I hope I haven't confused you guys too much. Thanks for any help provided in advanced.
