If you liked the DOS days, you can always run PowerShell, type
cd Documents
then use the move-item command (abbreviated as mi) to move your files:
mi filename some_directory
and I think you can still use mkdir to create a directory.

Then you can use gci, dir or ls (all names for the same command) to list the
contents of a directory.

Microsoft have reputedly been improving their command line interface in recent
years, hence PowerShell.
