There is an Office version called 365. That is the one which offers a
monthly charge or you can pay for an entire year at one time.
I considered that but it's on line. Office 365 brings you onto that web
site and you store your files on the cloud. It's a bit different and might
take some getting used to. I don't recall the exact charge but it's
something like $11 to $13 per month, I think.
I believe that Microsoft is offering some kind of special deal on that.
Personally, I prefer to have my files right on my PC and I back things up
regularly on an external drive.
It might be a less expensive alternative.

Hello list,
Am I misunderstanding, I thought I heard one of my friends say you can get
it for a monthly subscription... now it might not be cheaper in the long
run, but a subscription would make it a little easier to afford...
Plus, I just got a windows suite, for free my my university, I was able to
get, outlook, word, excel, powerpoint...
It is ridiculous to have to pay 250 bucks for something that is necessary I
hope we can all find affordable software andy

Hi Gene & Jhon,

I'm sending this message using Jaws 16, & sure hope I don't get blasted by
the moderators!

Here's a website for Office products. These people are a good group to do
business with:
Softwareau
http://www.softwareau.com

Checkout their prices, they're great.

Take Care.

Before my vision loss forced me to leave my last job, I got Office 2007 for
something like $10 as part of Microsoft's Home Use program.

If I am forced to abandon 2007, I'll look at Open Office. My needs now don't
include paying $200 or more for Office.

For Security Essentials, I have the original installer. I suspect Windows
update will still continue to update it if it sees it installed.
That should hold me over until I can find an accessible anti virus.
Avast was my favorite until I discovered what an accessibility nightmare it
is.

Cheers!
