Thanks Jorge. I have been using narrator, but it is not good for web access.
Tried reinstalling JAWS again but no success. Back to 17 it is then.

Alana,
You can use Narrator to get you out of trouble, when jaws acts up.
                                        Jorge.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Serious problem with latest update

Hello,

I have a serious problem that appears to be related to the latest build of
JAWS 18,, that was released earlier this month.

I was able to use this build for a while, but I can't remember what lead up
to this problem, but I will explain.

After restarting my computer completely during the week, I lost all speech.
When I pressed J for JAWS on the desktop and pressed enter on the shortcut,
I received a message stating that there was a problem with the shortcut. I
tried to repair JAWS but I received another message stating that I had to
verify that I had access to the file, JFW.exe. I could not do this. There
was no option of verifying such access. The only solution I could try was to
completely remove JAWS, then reinstall the version on the cd.

How can I sort this out?

Thanks.

Alana
